I got the privilage to fish the media day for the Crappiemaster tourney last Thursday. I was teamed up with Dan Dannenmueller,of last years angler of the year team. He was a great guy and I had a wonderful time in my 4 hours with him. We didn't catch a "money fish", but we got a bunch in the 1 pound range. I have never spider rigged before, but I will be gettin rigged up for that now !!
Went back to Lake Dardanelle this morning and got a limit with 2 over 2 pounds, so the pros didn't catch them all!
Now that turkey season is over, I am going to get serious on these crappie !!
In the media day deal, 2 of 6 teams weighed fish over 2 pounds. I was not one of them, but had fun anyway.

Can you explain what media day is?
Just FYI.... Dan and his partner Bill said they caught and released @ 1200 crappie in their 3 days of pre-fishing and 2 days of tourney fishing on Dardanellle. Looks good for the future.
Media day was a little 4 hour tourney for the news papers and tv to draw attention to the MAIN thing. Just a PR event. I just happened to be at the Chamber of Commerce at the right time to get an invite !!
Hope the town does it again next year. Dardanelle is one of the greatest crappie lakes in the country year in and year out. Crappiemasters put on a good show to.
