    does anyone know where I could get some REAL CANE poles in central Arkansas? I mean those big long 1 piece poles of my youth.

    You can get all you want at Lake Nimrod. They are green, so you would have to let them dry out.

    Lots of fun fishing with a cane pole. We always cut a bunch and hang em up to dry. Couple years ago, I even took some spider-riggin.

    We used to cut 'em and hang 'em up to dry. The store bought ones that I saw as a kid were all two piece with a steel ferrel in the middle. We never wasted our coke bottle money on those though.:rolleyes:
