Hot and fresh is the best way, but the 2nd best way is cold for breakfast the next morning.
Hot out of the oil...just cooled enough to avoid burning the roof. I usually get my share before the cooked batch makes it to the dinner table. But the cold out of fridge the next day makes a good breakfast.

love them fresh of course, but nothing beats a cold piece loaded with sriachi hot sauce in the morning!!!
If ya don't like them hot and cold then You are in it for the sport, more than likely, I don't mean it in a derogatory way, but crappie fillets are good hot or cold, fresh out of the grease and all the way till the next day out of the fridge with white bread and onion, they make a great breakfast sandwich, it just means your coworkers will keep thier distance if you are having fish sandwiches with onion for breakfast.
