    Default Took the Wife Today

Wife and I went out on Ouachita today. It was a nice day on the water and the crappie were biting pretty good. She said she caught more fish today than she ever had before in a single day. I think she is probably right. They are still deep here. The water temp was held in check by these cool days and rain we had. However, I bet those warms days we are going to get next week will really put them on the move. Me and X-Ring are making a trip Tuesday. Hopefully I can put him on the fish.

Those are some pretty fish. Putting the better half on some is always good.

X-Ring, those bigger white crappie in the photo came off the "new" spot I found yesterday that I told you about. I think we are going to start our day off there Tuesday morning. I threw a few back that were just as big as the ones in the photo I'm sure there are some even bigger ones in there if we can entice them to bite. Looks like the weather is going to be good to us.

I use 6lb for vertical jigging and 4lb for casting. I bet even 8lb for vertical jigging would be fine but it would slow the fall of the jig just a little. I also use the hi-viz stuff, the color of the line doesn't seem to bother them even in the clear water (I've tried it both ways).
