Default water almost coming over short transom in reverse

I have got a 1548 war eagle with a short transom. When I put the motor in reverse the water is just an inch from coming over. Will the 1542 have the same problem? Im about to sell this boat and looking into buying an Edge or a 1542 War Eagle. If anyone knows if the Edge has the same problem or if the 1542 war eagle has the same problem please let me know. I've had other boats and never had this bad of a problem.

I have the 42 and did have the problem. I had someone weld me a 3 inch tall piece across the back and notched for motor. Works great as i can shut down at full throttle Nd no back wash. I can send u picts if you like shoot me a pm. Much cheaper than new rig.

Yes!! The narrower the boat, the more draft it will have with the same weight inside.

I sunk one boat from that problem but am older and (hopefully) wiser. Had three since then all with tall transoms and will NEVER have another boat with a low transom.

I like that war eagle alot. i guess it is the transom that sets back at a angle and im usally in a hurry. so I guess I can just watch it better and take my time. and dont in reverse. lol

I've never even given this a second thought. That's why that splash well is back there and I make sure my bilge pump works at all times. I am definately not throttle shy.
