Do you prefer monofilament, fluorocarbon, or braid line?

8lb mono

I like to use what ever is on sale. The last time it was 10lb monofilament at Walmart. $8 spool was marked down to $5 and I figured that should be the hot line for the season. Still need to replace the line on the cranking rods. Don't know what's gonna be on sale. I am eyeing a 1k yard spool of pline hi vis grn in 10lb. Has anyone used any of that stuff.

i use p-line on my jig poles ,it is some good line .i have also used it on my trolling poles and i like the mist green color best!!!!!!!!!!

I have been using mono since I started crappie fishing this past summer. I seem to have trouble with it twisting up. So I bought some braid. Just curious before I spool it up, what are the issues with braid that you are referring to?

Berkley XT Mono in 6lb for me. I tried the braided line, and it kept getting snagged on the side of the trees stuck to the bark like velcro. The flurocarbon stuff is a little pricey or I would try it.

I troll 90% of the time so it's braid for me.

I've had my share of wind knots when fly fishing, but how in the world do you get a wind knot casting??? I use braid on a couple of my rods, but I never had a wind knot on conventional gear. Had some tangles that were as bad as wind knots though.
