They have dang sure been biting on Nimrod. Me and a buddy went out there yesterday and caught too many to count. Threw back a bunch of little ones but still left the lake with almost a limit each (38 total I think) and even kept a few bream. We caught a few bass too but they went back in the drink, we don't eat trash fish Rofl We caught them both shallow and deep but our better fish came out of 20+ foot of water suspended just off the bottom on structure. Sorry guys, didn't take any pics. We were too busy catching them and when we got to the cleaning station it was starting to get dark and I went right to work on them so I could get home. Had a mess of them for dinner tonight and they were sure tasty. BTW I caught most of mine on a Meatgetter #89. Gave me a good chance to get my new jigs poles broken inThose Pinnacle Vertex rods ain't bad at all for the money.
Nimrod, I looked for you out there but I don't think I ever saw ya. We put in at Sunlight Bay with the rest of the crowd and fished out on the river most of the day. I was in a camo Xpress with a four stroke Yamaha. I get up there every once in a while, maybe we'll run into one another one day.

You usually launch at Carter Cove? I've tried fishing the lake a couple of times but just couldn't get them located out there. I did find a big school of them suspended one day and jigged up a few but they were really small. I just started fishing Lake Nimrod last year but I've been up that way duck hunting more times that I care to think about. I've located a couple of spots in the river that seem to hold quite a few fish. I would normally put in at Carter Cove and just run across the lake and up the river but we decided to go to Sunlight yesterday for whatever reason. Hope to see ya on the water sometime.
