    Default Rod holders for transport

Well i currently use hi-tek rod holders and contacted scott who makes them to help me out with a transport system for my rods in my boat. Scott has been great and came up with another great product. I am posting pictures for others to see. I currently take 10 rods with me transporting 5 on top rack and 5 on the bottom. This system is very good in that all the rods transport without getting tangled tips and are convenient in reach from my front pedestal seats. I could store up to 6 or 7 rods per rack if needed.

I am also asking for a little modification on the 4 post rod holders. I am asking him to look at a method to adjust all 4 rod holders at the same time. Once all my rods are leveled and spaced out right the change in weight by adding a person to the front deck can either put all rods up in the air or down in the water. Also when changing from spidering to trolling cranks an put the rods down in the water. It would be real nice to just adjust the bar so that it moves all rods up and down instead of individually. Does anyone else have interest in this modification.

Thanks Scott for your willingness to work with me and customize your already good products

Glad to help out! If you need anything else, just give me a shout. I carry 8 on top and 8 on bottom of mine.

Cool md i know he is working on one maybe he will post it when he gets it finished. Sure is a pain to have to adjust my level on 8 rods every time i go fishing. I havent seen any other unit that will allow you to adjust 4 at a time up and down from the water . When he gets done i think it is gonna be the cats meow lol.

U can adjust these if need be. There is a screw knob on each of the 3 racks that allows you to position them at any height. This is a picture from the back side and u can't see the knob on the picture but it's there.

Nice set up. The hi-teks i got are also adjustable ip and down using same size bolt as rod holders. Good point.

Seems like it would be pretty easy to pass the horizontal rod that holds the rod holders through a sleeve that is fixed to the upright and with a set screw on it. That way you could loosen the set screw, roll the horizontal bar back or forward to raise or lower the rod tips and then tighten the set screw. That way, you would be raising or lowering all the rods in the rod holders on that bar. Does that make sense? Prolley a very good reason, from an engineering standpoint, why that can't be done, but I'm just dumb enough to think it can!

Just re-read your post and we may be talking about two different things. I thought you started out talking about a rod rack holder for transport, but then started talking about a rod holder that holds your rods while fishing that could be adjusted to raise or lower all rods on that holder at one time.
