He is laying up at the launch ramp on southside almost directly WEST of the dock where you tie your boat...feel free to photograph...he was belly up when I left there yesterday, I'll watch for photos.

I think that crappie, bass and even people tend to start looking with the first warm days of the year, I must have misunderstood in the other thread, I thought you were talking about staging before spawning..and spawning in my home lake is still a ways off..IMO
As far as the identity of the snake in question, he was the garden varity water snake, not a cottonmouth, not venomous, but deadly to me, therefore in a act of self defence, I bludgeoned him to death, the moccasin term is, in this neck of the woods, the water snake, the cotton mouth is the one that will swell you up...and we have plenty of that kind also.
That being said, I hope you all catch some crappie today,,and a coffee can full of bigguns..
I hate all snakes
Bofus! I'm better at identifying dead snakes than I am live ones!!! :biggrin
I saw his flattened body laying by the dock today. Wish I had been there to see you when you saw him. I know how you are about snakes. Xring don't care what its first name is, if it's last name is snake his first name will be Dead. It was as big as a cottonmouth.
Dannnnnng!
Glad you didn't twist an ankle or knee on the rocks.
