Lake Maumelle help

Anybody got any pointers for the "dead sea"? I have fished it sum in the past few years (mainly in March and April) with limited success but am wondering how the experts would go about loadin a cooler in that lake. Any help is much appreciated as a friend of mine is wantin to go out there this weekend. Thanks.

let me start by saying that I am in no way an "expert". I fish maumelle quite a bit during march/april/may and have caught them several ways, but I always end up resorting back to the Tenn. shad by Kalins. I had a pretty good year last year fishing the edges of the grass when the weather warmed up, but until then, work structure on the edges of the river channel. Once the Shad in the lake push up into the grass, it can be a great place to fish. hope this helps

That sea ain't dead!!! Great place to pull cranks.. havn't been all year but going this weekend for a shake-down trip....
