Default How Important Is It To Get You're Limit?

I was wondering who considers there success on whether or not they got there "limit" on an outing? If I am catching a lot of fish I would like to get my limit but it's not as big a deal as it used to be. If I can get 6 or 7 decent ones that's enough for a hot meal of fresh crappie. I have quit many times only liking a few having my limit. I have also released some "really" nice crappie just because I only had 3 or 4.
I think that if you had a good day and caught some good fish you should post pics and be proud even if you didn't get your full limit. I want to commend folks like CrappiePro that are adaptable enough to change techniques when necessary to keep catching good strings of "nice" slabs. But more impressive is their willingness to offer advice, tips, and even directions on the lake to help other anglers.Thumbs Up

I don't mind putting people on fish if they don't mind fishing with a blindfold

I'm one of those people that really doesn't have to catch a thing. I always tell myself that the worst day on the water beats the best day at work. I just enjoy being on the water, if I catch fish it's just lagniappe.

At this point I'd just settle for a mess of fish! I consider it a success finding them....when you fish better part of the day, on a good warmer afternoon with low wind around brush down deep and can't boat a fish somethings wrong and you need to find new water. I've noticed when your around crappie even if they aren't doing much you'll catch a few. I've also noticed on big deep clear lakes they can be a pain in the ___ to find too!

Most people consider a limit as the measuring stick of their own overrated ability. We all love catching fish or we wouldn't be reading these threads, and we all like a good story, but limit number whatever is bragging!!!! Go win a Crappie Master Tournament with SEVEN big ones, then you MIGHT have something to brag about!!!! It ain't the number, it's the quality of the experience that's most important to me!!!! I do like catching a limit now and then tho, and wish I had the time to go more often.

Not me,all i want to take home is a mix of 20 bream, small bass and crappie.i,m picky as to what size and
the shape the fish is in whether it goes in the cooler.i had rather have a mixed bag of fish as to all of one kind.
Got burned out of cleaning coolers of fish years ago b/c thats when the fun stops and work begains.i fish all
Day which i enjoy the hunt without any bells and whistles leading the way.

I enjoy the peace and quiet of fishing. As long as I catch 1 fish I'm happy. Getting skunked tends to stick in my craw though.
