    Default Took my dad fishing

My dad came from Kansas for a visit yesterday and I took him fishing this morning from 8:30 until 1:00. He caught his first Arkansas crappie. We ended up keeping a total of 25. We threw back a couple dinks and a few bass. He's had some medical problems that he's still getting over and he hasn't been able to fish in the last couple of years. He had a great time and I really enjoyed watching him pull some in. It's weird that I'm still catching fish with eggs. Everyone we saw was fishing deep and only catching a very few small ones. We caught most of ours in 5-6ft of water. It's been a strange spawn for me this year.

It is a great feeling to get out on a beautiful day with your dad. I'm sure that memories were made. Take him every chance you get.

Y'all caught some nice fish. It is surprising that those fish have so many eggs. They also look like they are ready to lay 'em. What lake did you fish?

I sounds like you had a good day fishin with your dad. Why to go. Spend some more quality time with him. It will be well worth it in the future.

I appreciate the kind words.....I took him to Brewer to fish.... I wanted to take him to Greer's Ferry for the scenery....remember he's from Kansas...but with the chance of storms and wind I decided to take him to Brewer because it's so small and I knew I could get him off the water fast if need be, but we were lucky and only caught a few sprinkles....Hey fishingpox, the car is one I restored a few years ago....It's a 68 Impala super sport drop top with power everything and the original big block 396....thus the SS396 name....it's a blast to put the Grand kids in and taking them crusing...it gets a lot of attention so they think their grandpa is still "cool"... lol...
