Xring, I'm a jig fisherman too. I just wanted to give spiderigging at try since I knew that was how they were being caught. I love to feel the thump! It's all fun as long as you are catching!
Many ways fish can be caught ditto what xrin said on having many ways to fish. Some like yoyoing, some like trotlining some fishin with nets, some single polers, some like double poles, some like spidering. The bottom line is we all like to catch fish! Tight lines on what ever your method may be. I can say this on spidering, it can be rewarding and exciting but like others have said very frustrating and expensive when you get multiple hangups or broken rods.
WTG!!!! I'm like you broharrell, I love the thump, but I just want to catch fish when I go. Having the time to fish is the most valuable part no matter the style you choose!!! Hang in there with the spider riggin, it gets easier as you learn.
BRM
I just can't get into the whole spider rigging thing. I don't really see a need for it IMO
Hey BRM - You treat this guy well, He is a personal friend of mine and I am sending him to you to look at rod holders. I told him you will beat any price after you take my commission off. Make sure he gets what he needs not you. HAHA. I took him pullin cranks for his first time last year at Butla and he was hooked on multi pole fishing. His pic made the Crappie.com Calander (August). Thanks again!
been there done that, lol!
:biggrinBRM done fixed me up with some rod holders and saved me a little money to buy minnows. Now I'm ready to go try again. Just would like for it to warm up some and the wind not blow, as is forcast for tomorow.
