Good day cattin embarrassing for crappie

I don't wanna really tell this story on here but I feel I need to so it don't happen to anyone else so today went out to pine bluff lake with one of my die hard catfish friends he doesn't crappie fish at all at least not yet we went catfishin had a decent day two blues and two channels in about three hours coulda been better but I'll take it after the crap streak I been havin anyway we got out to our spot in anchored down tossed our lines out not twenty min later we see the fish finder go crazy schools of fish everywhere start watching the water ( siting in about 9 ft pine bluff lake is only about 12 at it's deepest) and theres crappie and gillz coming to the surface and hitting his line as it's floating in the water ( he had hi vis 50 lb yellow braid ) so I start looking around my boat then I relized I was catfishing the lightest rig I had was a mh ugly stik spooled with 20 lb braid and a 5-0 circle hook and not one single jig or small hook in the boat now the reason for this is it's a 1436 Jon I usually only take wat I need for whatever the fish of the day is but u can bet from now on I will have at least one light setup with a couple jigs on the boat whenever it leaves the driveway long story short we sat and watched the fish hit his line as long as we sat there even tried snatchin a few with the landing net (which didnt work and almost caused both of us to go swimming in the wind ) but it was fun had a good day with a good friend and I guess that's what fishin is about
