Default Short but sweet fishing trip this evening

My son David (Blue Thunder) and I met up after work today at a lake for our first team fishing trip since Deer Season started. We met up at the lake at 4:10 were able to start actual fishing at 4:30 and stopped at 5:45. It took us around 30minutes to find the fish and what color and presentation they wanted cause we hadn't been on this particular lake in close to a year. I was starting to get a little frustrated at first and thought we might wind up getting skunked. We started out using six rods trolling all different colors and after some experimentation David dug deep into his ammunition box and came up with one particular jig/color combination that was deadly to those Crappie. Once we got tuned up we put 18 Crappie and one large bream in the box before wrapping up the rods. It was a very very short but sweet time on the water. We actually spent nearly as much time driving to the lake as the time we got to fish........kind of an abbreviated session to help us get fired up and back into Crappie Hunting mode. We were gonna wait on it till this weekend but couldn't stand it any longer!
