    Default Rod holders, part 2

I know there was a post a few days back about the best rod holders but the key to me is how they mount? I've got a fiberglass boat and as we know everyones boat setup is different. I'd like to get out of having to drill holes. Any suggestions of rod holder makers that offer a no drill, clamp type setup?? I like the Mr Crappie rod holders but they are drill I think. Just not much up there on the front of the boat to mount too from what I've seen. I'd love to find a clampping type holder if possible.

Smith's makes a model that mounts to your seat pedestals, and has a base with the holders that sets on the deck. I sell em, but don't stock that model. Most good aluminum holders have a base that screws to the deck. Easy to remove, and you can't see the holes when you take them off the boat (If you have carpet). The bases mount low to the deck, and most people leave the bases on their boat, and slide the rod holders off. The bases usually screw down with 3-4 #14 sheet metal screws. Easy to do, very little damage to the deck.

Here is one that I make that is a pedstal mount. I used one like it til last year( finally got the nerve to drill holes in my boat). My dad uses it now. It isn't has solid as base mount , but no holes to drill and and your ready to fish out of the box. The last pic is the rod holder that mounts on it. I make to hold 4 or 6 rods.

Well went around to the local bait/tackle stores here in Hot Springs, what a joke! As many lakes as there are in this area and no more selection than they have. With the largest lake in AR here nearby and all the other lakes, they need a bass pro here? I've been to the Memphis BPS and I wasn't impressed. Now the Shreveport BPS is good but they should've built one here?
I'll check the links here though, thanks for the help guys. I did get some idea's today though. I have 2 holes for a pedestal seat in the front deck of my boat so I thought about using the 1st one for another pedestal without the seat and then mount the rod holder to that. I really wanted to see/handle and measure the base of it to know where to mount it to the pedestal minus the seat of course.
