Unless it has a self destruct button on it, you can probably copy it. Just don't get caught doing it. Same as speeding. But I don't have one, so I'm not completely sure. I agree. Sounds like something they made up to keep you from copying. Kind of like, "if you do that too much, you'll go blind".

The unit I have is an old one and can read a 512mb card or smaller. So the newer Navionics or hotspot maps are way to large. It would one of those things that someone would have tucked away in a desk drawer or something like that. Thanks anyway for the reply.
