Sounds like you had a good day, and 10-12 inch crappie are not bad at all in size.
I have to wonder how they came to the number 37 for a limit though, like, such a odd number. Maybe arkansas should follow suit with say 29

As many of you know I've yet to find any fish on Degray lake. My dad had the day off Monday so I spent the night at his house and we got up early to head to Pine Creek Lake over in OK. We probably caught well over 100 but kept to our limit of 74, 37 each. After all the burnt trips here lately I needed a day like today. I wanted to lay them all out and take pictures but I've yet to figure out how to post pics on here and we needed to get them cleaned. Now that lake has good numbers but the size isn't there. Biggest one we had probably went 14" or so. We had a lot of 10" to 11" crappie though. It was all I wanted to clean! I don't know who got the worst of the work, me or my EL fillet knife. It's about time to get another one after today. Last Summer I was filleting a big mess of crappie and got the knife so hot it started smoking and was too hot to hold....glad I had a back up.

37??? How'd they come up with that?![]()
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
Thats those okies. Nice catch. If you dont want the 10-11 " ones, put them in a cooler ands ship to Jonesboro. They are my favorite
Good catch. I bought a new B&D knife and used it twice cuz it got hot and got so slow it was useless. The rods even started knocking.
It ain't nuttin but luck.
First time I ever heard of a 37 fish limit.
Glad you got on em!! I like that Nimrod!!!! good stuff
Ok, fellas, not sure where the 37 came from, my father-in-law told me that a few years ago and I doubted it until I saw it in the game books. As for Pics, all I got was a 5 gallon bucket full, I mean so full they would flop out without a lid! I put very little water in the bucket, did no good though as they were just stacked in there. As for the EL knives I used to use a reg. white bread knife from Walmart but now I using a Mr. Twister, may go back to the bread knives though. It was a blast. I bagged 16 biggest fillets to cook on the cedar plank with Old Bay, liked it so well last time. Somebody tell me how to get a picture on here and I'll post one. I wanted to get em all out on a board and get me and dad in the picture but lack of time and flopping crappie said just take a bucket picture. Wish I'd had an old wash tub. I guess I've just been spoiled to catching them like that guys. My next trip I'm not sure where to go, Pine Creek lake is a long drive. Nimrod is 1.20hr, White Oak about the same, Ouachita probably 45min, and Blue Mtn lake is more like 2hr. Then there's Greeson but it's so deep, same as Ouachita I wouldn't have a clue where to go?
Oh, we got a call early this morning saying a guy I grew up going to the same church with had died in a wreck down in Texas. The boy was only 29, wife and small kid left behind. His dad is the music director in the church, and the dad fell out of his tree stand back in the fall and they had thought he'd broke his back, and just last year the boys G.Pa was found dead in a deer stand so the family has been through a lot please keep them in your prayers. It's my best friends cousin that got killed so he called me early this morning to tell me.
I am sorry to here of the tragic accident,,compounded by the other deaths in the family, may he rest in peace and God comfort those he left behind.
