Well the cold snap did not effect the fish to much, they realized they still had to eat and I was serving the main corse as bait, mid south tube jig, they eat it up, I ain't never seen a pink/chartreuse baitfish but I ain't knocking it, it's a good color.

That place would have some world class fishin if they would impose the 12" size limit like in Sippi.

I agree with you BRM, however I am not in it for world class fish, I am in it for table fare, all of those fish are 11" or better, the picture is kinda decieving. I also release 95% of all the fish over 13" that I catch. They are not as good eating as the 11" to 13" crappie. I have caught lots of crappie over 3lbs. They don't excite me to much cause I know I am going to release them, If people fished for only world class fish, and then they fillet them, then all that is happening, is now your brood stock has become the target size fish to eat, that has no benifit, the argument has two sides just like any coin, for what I want fish for the size I keep is best, however what I do by releasing the big fish helps the trophy fisherman out. The big ones are fun to catch don't get me wrong, but they are also fun to release, the mid sized crappie are fun to eat, that's the fun I am talking about.

NIce Fish GURU.. I am on both sides of this argument.. It really just depends on how hungry for fish me and my family are!!!

To comment on your pink/chrt jig selection just about anything with those 2 colors is a good choice. Blue/chrt, Blk/chrt, red/chrt have all been good choices for a long time now.

Good fish and a good day of fishing. Maybe you could bring a few of those up to Beaver and release them. That way they could teach these how to act when it is cold.
