Getting Sick???

Man Im spending Christmas sick as a dog. I dont know whats going on It always starts with a sore thoat, conjestion then moves to my lungs with conjestion. Ill shake it off with over the counter meds and feel well for two weeks to a month.... and it comes back, its in the lung phase right now and feels like im coughing up a Porky Pine that just keeps wiggeling down there. I know I was chilled on the water or in the woods before it started, but ive dressed warm and been hunting and fishing all my life and never have i been sick with flu/cold symptoms four times in one year and three times in the last 2-3 months. So with that said im off to the doctor tomarrow. Wife says im overdoing the fishing and hunting thing, lack of rest is the cause. I just hope she is right.

Man, I know how you feel. I started around Thanksgiving with a sore throat and drainage. Took over the counter meds. Seemed to be getting better, then; BAM light dose of pneumonia. Off to doctor, get meds, lungs clear up, feeling better and now a severe sinus infection. Enough meds to choke a horse and can't go on the water for another 10 days. Dang, I terrible getting old. LOL. Take care of yourself and listen to the wife. (now don't shoot me for saying that)

A little cool air ain't bad for you in my book. More people get sick by stay'n indoors all the time. But us old guys need our rest too! Burnning the candle at both ends works ok when we are young but it catches up sooner or later. I used to stay up after working all night , get wet and cold with little or no lasting effects but these high milage bodies can't take as much abuse.

Russ i think you probly have a sinus infection and bronchitis ,I went through something just like that a few years ago , I had a sinus infection and bronchitis , I was being treated by a doctor but the prescription was not strong enough or for long enough to kill it , I would get sick then get better and then be sick again in a coupe weeks, the over the counter stuff or low dose meds kinda nocks it down ,makes you feel better for a while but the infection is still there , in time it gets you sick feeling again , I ended up going to a ear nose and throat specialist , he gave me a stong dose of amoxicillin for about three or four weeks . That took care of it and haven't been sick since. No amount of rest will cure it and it's not from to much hunting and fishing . Hope you get well soon , Alan....

Nimrod, I believe that you have been talking to my wife. She says the same thing. "You can't do the things you did 20 years ago". But what does Toby Keith say in that song? My body says I can't, but my prides says oh yes I can! Still get the same results!!!! Get well quick.

Man I hate you feeling poorly Russ,,it may be from fishing with rtark,,,he's a bit sickly,,don't tell him I said it,,but he passes out when he sneezes...nearly..lol At least thats what a family member once told me,,but dangit, I try to look out for him best I can...

Get you some of them antibygollys, maybe a shot of crown and some lemon juice and come on down,,,,fishings bound to pick up...soon..

Alan I think you are right...on seems like I had this happen years ago and the Doc Said Son you got bronchitis and it just dont go away without treatment. Kinda fools you into thinking its just a cold that will pass and Like Jigflinger said BAM!!!! it comes right back. HAHA!!! im down for the next few days so I hope you guys on the front lines kick thier butts and bring your limits home. I'll rejoin you as soon as I can.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather, my friend. I'm pretty dadgum sure it's not from too much hunting or fishing though because that's impossible!!! LOL Seriously, stay in a few days and get completely rid of that junk so we can go to Dardanelle! :D:D:D Despite your illness, I hope you and Shelly had a great Christmas and got to spend it with family.
