Default Bank Fishing in Central, AR help a new guy

First post here, been reading for a couple of months. Glad to have this resource.

I'm pretty new to fishing, just started this year. I don't have a boat or know anyone who has one and can't seem find to any good places to catch crappie from the banks around here. This summer I was okay around the Mayflower bridge and some of the piers near that area, but all of the crappie seemed to have moved on. I keep reading about people on this forum doing fine from their boats but like I said I don't have one. I live in Conway and was wondering if anyone had any advice for someone who is limited to bank fishing. Not looking for any trophies, just some fun and dinner.

Ain't sure how long you have been in the Conway area, but are you familiar with the double bridges on Hilway 286, commonly refered to as the double bridges, they are on Clinton road, it is the upper end of palarm creek where it runs into lake Conway, it has it's times but offers some good creek bank fishing. I have caught a lot of Crappie from the bank and it is usually good up until the end February.

    Default Directions would be appreciated

Not really sure where the double bridges are, directions would be appreciated. Clinton is the road the Shooting Range is off of correct?

A friend at work fishes dams 6 & 7, I live a little further south and frequent 3 & 4, good numbers and size of sauger and crappie are being caught from the bank in the tailwaters.

Yes that is correct, you can miss what they call the dble bridges, there are usually cars parked on the side of Clinton road and people are fishing from the bank, depending on which way you are traveling to get to the dble bridge, candy creek offers some bank fishing as well.

I will have to find those double bridges, are they between Conway and the shooting range, or between Mayflower and the shooting range? I appreciate the advice about the dams, but I don't get a lot of time to go fishing and driving out to the dams from where I live would eat up a lot of my time. I have been to to Toadsuck a few times though.

Mayflower bridge and double bridges is good on Conway. I have also caught some nice crappie just below the dam. for a road trip you can venture to lucky landing at lake atkins. Nice crappie from the bank.
