    Default Crappie Fishing line opinions

Curious of what fishing lines you all are using for crappie fishing this time of year? Monofilament, flurocarbon, colored or not, lb, etc... so many out there and a lot of them are not worth a darn.
I have had some bad luck lately finding a line that has the feel and performance we need to catch those sneaky crappie slabs. Appreciate any direction or input you may have.

I have been using a 6lb fluorocarbon clear with good results, but some manufacturers fluorocarbon are better than others.

I use GAMMA Copolymer Polyflex and ESP Ice in 2 and 4# clear and yellow, mostly clear. I have not tried their Edge fluorocarbon, but if it is up to the same standards as the other two lines, it should be superb.

This line has not failed me either for crappies or some much larger bonus fish that joined the party, except when cut off by the occasional tooth carp (muskie).

Default The answer to all your problem!!!

I use suffix performance braid, 10 pound strength with a 4 pound test diameter, you can't go wrong with this line, it is alot stronger that what it is rated at, it is super sensitive, you can feel a crappie thinking about biting, it works great on a spinning reel setup for casting also, and because it is such a small diameter it does not bother the crappie at all. It has so many advantages over mono or flouracarbon.
try it on one rod before you switch them all to it, it takes some getting use to but it is the answer to all line questions and problems. It is suffix performance braid 10/4 it has gore tex fibers woven into it, which gives it awesome tensil strength, and gore Tex is water proof so your line does not soak up water, it also slows the fall of heavier jig heads due to the bouyancy of gore Tex. Slower fall keeps the bait in the strike zone longer.

I have been using Mr. Crappie, yellow/green,,it appears green to me, with good success..I'd give it a thumbs up for a good inexpensive line, The bright color helps old eyes when tying on...

Mr crappie high- vis. I got tired of hunting my line in the water. The hi vis has no effect on the crappie as far as I can tell, I have gotten a limit for the last 10 trips ( except one day with 15) using it. Even if you think it spooks crappie, how would you know? I have landed some good size bass on it too. The best part it is $6.90 for a 1500 yd roll. Perfect for bad eyes and small pockets.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.
