plumb bayou
Plum bayou is in England, ar. it's about 5-7 miles outside of town on hwy 161, just past clear lake. there are 2 separate ramps for access just done by agfc. these ramps are separate from one another. basically there are 2 accesses, but the bayou is separated by a bridge & pipes.
I went fishing there yesterday, and the water is very high, and muddy! looked like chocolate milk! my presumption is they are pumping it up for the farmers, and that is why it's so muddy. we haven't had any rain in 3-4 weeks, but it is still very brown.
I caught 4 fish yesterday. 2 crappie, & 2 bass. the crappie were on trees right next to the main channel. bass were on structure close to the bank. I only fished for about 4 hours (8-12noon) caught 3 of the 4 on a white bass spinnerbait (strike king). water temp - 70 degrees. Fish I cleaned hadn't spawned yet. with those warm temps we've been having, it's probably happening as i write this. anyway, plumb bayou is a great place, tons of cypress, and the bayou is big & long. only problem is it's narrow. I was trying to be courteous those fisherman as i passed. (didn't want to scream by them) I may have to wait for the post spawn pattern & spider rig / troll for them now. May just bass fish till this happens.
