Kind of new but disappointed.

Well I've been on here for a while, first post. But I have pm'ed some on here with no response??? I was also promised some decals that I never received??? Not sure what to make of the close knit group this is supposed to be? I don't usually post but would gladly help anyone that asked me for help in any way, on the open forum or PM'ed or on the lake. I know this will will probably get some harsh responses but at this point I'm just asking for opinions. Not sure I really want to be part of such a "close knit" group that will not help a brother out? One on here has helped and is the reason I signed up (Thanks Meatgetter) but some others (Slab and noslab) have not done what they said they would do or have not attempted to help someone that asked and would have greatly appreciated it. Don't get me wrong I am not asking for someone to take me by the hand, I can catch plenty on my own when it gets "my time of year" (during the winter), and will help anyone that I can to catch them also but other times of the year I could use some help. That's what the questions I've asked have been about, help in the times of the year I can't catch them..... With no response. So I just wonder ?????

I don't know if I can help you here, I haven't lived in Ar. to long, and I don't even crappie fish here as of now, I go to Grenada Lake, Ms to crappie fish.
I must say there seems to be something going on here. I've been on C.Com since 2005 and I get the treatment like that sometimes here.
I'm disapointed that this is going on to, I don't know if you call it a click of regulars or what?
I know I can get back what I paid to come on the Ar. forum, but that is not the issue.
Not making a new person feel welcome is not what this forum is suppose to be about.
I myself was treated cool here, but I'm tough and just let it roll off my back.
I've done nothing to anyone here, I remember when my father died of TB, I was shunned by all the children there I lived, it hurt, and this reminds me of that
I'll try to help anyone just like you said, I don't know what it is here but they are not that friendly I agree.
And Like you said some will not like this, but it's the truth, What can I say.

I hate you feel that way, sometimes I think my reply will get a response,,and it dosen't, but hey, I just keep on trucking. I enjoy the pics. and short stories of how/where they did it, I would like to think that I could contribute to the site, but I have noticed that its not as easy as it might be. Less chat period on this site...but I'm gonna come read,,post within the rules and eventually I think I will make new friends on here.

I have certainly enjoyed reading,,not just arkansas but other states as well, about their lakes,,size of the fish they are catching and methods employed.

My intentions are to fish different locations, states also, in the coming years, learn all I can from those willing to teach, share. These golden years aren't so golden anymore,,so I wanna cram all I can into what time I have left. Hope to see you on the water..

Don't feel that way. That is not how this site operates. You will get what was promised. And you can't beat this site. Good people that are willing to help!

Well let me be the first to say Welcome to the boards SLB. All I can tell ya is there are lots and lots of lurkers that are probing the boards picking up the breadcrumbs as to where the fish are biting and how to go about catching them. Those lurkers wont join CDC and help contribute anything to help other fellow CDCers when theyre struggling. You have go to see if from both sides of the fence. Maybe if you start sharing some info about your catches or techniques then maybe people wont mind so much helping you out with your PM's and questions. Also, try and join in whenever there is a get together so you get the chance to actually meet some of the guys and ladies. I think you'll find out that everybody has the same general likes when it comes to crappie fishing. As far as the stickers...send Slab (the owner) a PM asking for a sticker and I'm sure he'll get you one in the mail.Thumbs Up BTW, dont get too thick skinned if somebody doesnt answer all your PM's or posts. It happenes to all of us. Just remember, a member at CDC sees your post count (which currently is "1") and all he thinks is here's another "newbie" that wont post anything but is looking for information thru PM's.

You have to post to be known. People here are as nice a bunch of folks as you'll ever meet, but if you've only made one post, how in the world do expect us to get to know you? Speak up!!!!! PM's are not the way to get to know strangers. You must be on the forum awhile so we won't think you're a weirdo, or whatever. Would you let a complete stranger into your place?

If you signed up just to get a free sticker, then Shame On You! You will get them, but you're probably not the only newbie. No posts, no prizes.;-)

Welcome to the board, SLB, from Conway, Arkansas. I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say you didn't get what was promised. You need to be more specific. I respectfully disagree with you about the folks on this board being a clique. I've been on the board about two years now and I've never had any trouble getting responses from my posts or pm's. This is as fine a group of people as I've ever known, most being willing to share freely information about catching crappie on many of the lakes and rivers in Arkansas. You're not going to get the coordinates of honey holes, but you shouldn't expect that, or even ask for it. But to condemn the Arkansas Crappie.com board based on what you wrote in you post I think is grossly unfair to the many on here to readily give out information about the where and how. Also, it's a two way street. If someone shares info with you, you need to give back and share your information. I think you've been a little hasty in your accusation here. Hope you stay on the board, get with the folks you say promised you something and didn't deliver, iron that out, and then enjoy the many fine folks on this board. Just my 2 cents.
