Default Crappie Beds at Lake Monticello

I noticed yesterday on Monticellolive.com that two Monticello High School EAST Lab students have requested permission to construct and place crappie beds at Lake Monticello. Their goal is to help increase the fish population, and bring in more visitors from outside areas. The students stated that the construction would be performed entirely by EAST students. Once the beds are constructed and dropped into place, their positions would then be plotted so that they could be accessed online. The Monticello City Council voted unanimously to allow the students to begin their project.

Sweet! The more students we get involved in fishing and habitat building the better! Hopefully, they will get plenty of help.

I wish I would've thought of something like that in high school........what better to do while in school than to build habitat and then fish it........

    Default Crappie beds

This is an absolutely outstanding project. Those young folks should be commended, and challenge other schools in the area to do the same in their home lakes. Really boosts a persons opinion of todays young people. BRAVO
