    Default Dardanelle heating up

Opposite of Lake Conway, the fish are piling up in deeper water. I caught my limit in 14-18 fow. When the sun got higher and the water warmed a bit , I started casting in about 8 fow. I started catch and release after I had 19 decent fish in the well and lost count of the total but I guess about 40- 50. Most were 10- 11 inchers, no hogs today. My great grandson is holding the typical size for the day so just multiply that times 20. I am looking for the big ones to start stacking up after another 10 degree drop in the water temp.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

Good Catch ! Since our buddy Don Romine is back in the boat business and in the process of rigging it to his tastes from what I hear. I guess I need to get him over there to catch a few soon.

Nice pic! and good catch. I'm trying to figure out what type of rod to buy right now for casting light jigs. I'm leaning towards a 6'6" light action instead of an ultralight. What action and length do you guys like the best?

Slab i like the Ozark Rods light action 7 8 9 foot for casting. Feels like silk in your hand. They also make a 6 ft dock shooter you can use for casting if you perfer a shorter rod. For me i use a light action 8-9 foot rod for casting.

Well, I hate to mention this 9 (GRIN )but Don was there in his new boat fishing the same place I was and he caught 3 catfish, one bass and 7 crappie. He was a little down from getting such a trashing but i reminded him of the times he did it to me. I love his boat, it is a beauty. It is a Triton 176 Magnum with a 90 Merc. It is in mint condition for a 2002 model. We just put him a HB 597 ci hd di on it and beefed up the front seat.

i LIKE A minimum 7' light to medium. Only time I use my 6 " rods is when I fish under low bridges or in tight cover. Main thing is to try it out in the store before you buy because different people have different opinions of what is light or medium.

Thanks CP. I went back to using that Mr crappie hi-vis line and I can't tell you how much it helped me see what my line was doing when fishing deep. I will holler atcha if the hogs show back up. that is if you left any.
