Just as soon as it warms a little more and can get the boat re-rigged.

A lot going on this week. Had planned to be out on the water before now. Looks like next week, now. I feel like the crappie should be in the brush piles and waiting for the temp to get right and then start moving into the shallows, but who knows. Will post anything i hear about. One friend was catching a few around their boat dock. Good fishing!

I've heard they spawn at 59.5 water temp. Not surface temp. Quoting Ronnie Capps on this.

This is just my opinion, and of course, it will change from one place to another, but i like the followung numbers: Crappie move out of the winter channels when the air temp stays above 45 for a few days. Will either suspend or be around structure [depending on bait fish] until the water temp gets from 52 to 58 and then move to the shallows, awaiting 58 to 64 water temp, for spawning in 2 to 12 ft deep. At this time they can be found and feeding heavily anywhere from the channel edge and up thru the brush or structure and on up to the bank. Note. These are all aprx numbers and will vary. Good fishing1

I am still finding my way around on here, but every crappie fisherman i have ever known likes to see photos of big slabs. I will attempt to post a photo of a 3lb-7oz slab caught the other day, by my son, a firefighter from back in miss.Name: IMG_5237.jpg
