James I have been fishing Beaver a good bit lately and haven't caught many. I caught a few trolling but I'm new to trolling. Yesterday I was kayak fishing out of Monte Ne and caught four keepers jigging in 5to 15 fow. Friday I fished hwy 412 and was the first time I've been skunked in a year. I didn't catch a crappie. I was encouraged catching them in shallower water Saturday. Those were the first keepers I've caught in shallow water since spring. James did you get to go to Nimrod Saturday and are you a custom rod maker?

Thanks for the info. I dont get out on Beaver Lake to much. My uncle has a smaller 16ft boat and doesnt like getting in the main lake with all those big bass and ski boats so we mainly hit the Bella Vista lakes. We catch crappie but no big ones. We do get on the lake in spring when they move up shallow and we can get them in coves.

Didnt make it to Nimrod. And yes I am a custom rod builder. Been building for a few yrs. When I started building I lived in Fl and built mostly bigger saltwater rods. Now living in Ar I've really gotten into smaller ultra lights and bass rods.
