Keep us posted on the resutls. I am wondering the same. If I can ever get back up on Ouachita I will need to know, cause it sure is up for a change. I just wonder if Maumelle ever came back up to normal level?Originally Posted by NIMROD

The water has rose several feet with last rain fall. The question is move to the brush on the old shorelines or stick to the deep brush piles ? I've caught them in the past both ways .![]()

I am wondering the same also.....with all this rain I'm not sure what they will do...I guess we'll have to hunt them until we figure figure it out....I may not get to fish again until the close to the end of the week but will post what I find when I do get to go....did you get your boat back Nimrod? If so I'd appreciate hearing what you find...
I wouldn't be surpised if Ouachita comes up another foot or more. I've heard that 3" of rain tends to equal about a foot rise in the lake. If it rains really hard and fast, it can be more.Originally Posted by gooch

The water is up in the brush with more rain predicted.Originally Posted by SS396
The catfishing is hot on setlines. Fished a watershed lake today with a buddy. We did poorly as water up there too !
We caught @ 20 bream , several small bass and a crappie. Then went to a pond and caught about 100 small bluegills. These should wind up on set hooks tomarrow.

Hey Nimrod how about you come downtown Little Rock and work for me tommorow and I will run up and do your fishing for you. Man it sure sounds like you have it made with all the time you have for fishing. I just wish you would use some of that time for downloading some pics of those Perry county slabs.Originally Posted by NIMROD
Take care and keep us posted on your catfish catch.
I tied up over 50 limblines and on my way to set out some with bluegills on them. Will have to paddle my old flatbottom around the brush. Beats setting at home .:D Most of my fishing is the Yell Co end of Nimrod. I need to get a digital camera or learn how to download from my scanner . I worked in L.R. for about 25 years and don't miss it at all.:p Hope the rain is gone for a while. Fishing everyday is tough , but someone has to do it !

would you mind letting me know please if you figure out the answer to your post also.....? J.T. Crappie Guide tells me they are probably seeking shelter (cover) under docks, lay-ins, etc. -- talked to a few people out on Beaver Lake today before the big storm they told me they didn't have much luck but the ones they got struck HARD and FAST and they were all slabs...about 5 total....good luck.....caleb
