    Default Crappie Rod

Didnt really a good spot to post this and since I'm located in Arkansas I figured I'd put it here. I have been building custom fishing rods for many years and have recently found building ultra lights for trout and crappie to be very interesting. Had a guy want a 9' rod for rainbow trout on the white river and crappie on beaver lake. I went with a Phenix Elixer Ultra Light model # FX902-2-B. It's 9', 2 piece, 2-8lbs line weight. I built it with a split grip, fuji reel seat and Pac Bay XM4XG Minima 4 match guides. It can cast a crappie jig a mile. Few pics of the rod.

that rod ran the guy $225. $150 in parts and $75 for labor. A rod like that will take about 8hrs of hands on work and a few days of drying.
