Default A Good Day on Nimrod - pics

Had the pleasure of spending most of a day on the water with Nimrod Wednesday crappie fishing. No cats this time! We hit the water at daylight and went to one of his honey holes and immediately started nailin'em. Only problem was the size. Kept a few of the larger ones but moved on to another place and again, a few good ones. About midmorning we hit a spot where we started catching some slabs and the daggone wind got up so bad we had to keep the trolling motor on in high gear just to stay on the spot. It paid off for awhile until fighting the wind just wasn't worth it and we moved. Again, went to a place where there were plenty of fish but had to throw back a lot of smaller ones to get a few good ones. We caught fish and culled until about 2:00 p.m. and wound up with 33 pretty nice fish. I got to again see first hand that "one fail swoop" fishing technique of Nimrod's, I call it the "clean and jerk", and it is something to behold! It didn't matter if it was a 7 incher or a 15 incher, he brought it from the bottom of the lake into the boat without stopping! I told him I didn't have the guts to do that and had him net my few good fish! If you ever get a chance to fish with Nimrod, do it as it is very entertaining and rewarding. Nimrod, man, I had a great time and hope to get to do it again soon. Thanks for a great day on the lake.
