never fished here but was going to head over there in the morning....if you're familiar with the lake, will these storms tonight shut them off for a few days? and i know it's a fairly shallow lake....will the hard rain muddy it up? thanks

Fish the weeds in the middle of the lake. Not sure about the rain. Just go, and post tomorrow with your results and pics.

Biggest crappie I've seen on the hoof came from Wappanocca. My dad (now deceased) caught 1 that went 2.4. I weighed it when it came out of the water. This was just out the run and to the right. It was also several years ago in the mid 1990's. It was a day with a hard north wind and I was sick as a dog with the flu. We/he caught 2 fish. The one was a biggun.

good luck. Let us know how you do.

well, don't know if it was the weather that moved through last night or if i just don't know how to catch crappie, but wapanocca was not friendly today. scratched out 4 keepers, but daughter hooked one that was big as i've ever seen in the water....got off halfway to the boat .....dad was way more devastated than she was

I wouldn't be surprised if the weather didn't have them messed up. Good to hear there is still a big one in there.

Sorry for a very slow reply. I guess you know now that we aren't open on Sat. Be back Monday, and will be glad to help. You must have an H-17. They just built their first X-17 this year. It's gonna be a new model.
