Default Saved By The Net/Lake Conway/8-10-11

After being run off the lake by a storm, Myself and Ski trip launched our War Eagle boats (Agian) after the storm passed. I proceeded to one of my favorite Cypress stand's and Bam a solid 1 1/2 pounder struck, as I got the fish to the top of the water the Jig popped out just as I slid the net under the fish. I feel great when ever this happens and feel it's personal achievement in crappie fishing seldom talked about. Guess it's because of all the good fish iv'e seen get off, I was just a second late, getting the net under over the years. I thought to myself WOW!!! this is going to be a day of Crappie.com Folk Lore. But in reality My self and Ski trip had a pretty slow day working the cypress trees, it was nice fishing in less than 100 degree weather with cloud cover most of the day. Our total was 4 good fish, 11 keepers, 3 channel cats and one white bass. I also have a great memory on the water with a good friend and getting the net under one that did'nt get away. Tight Lines...

Great catch CP and SKI!!! I still hound my buddy from a day we were fishing lake hogue in NEA and he had a HOG on and tried to get it in the boat when the net was laying right beside him and he smacked it against the side of the boat and plunk... FISH WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN!!! He still gets mad when i bring it up!!! Great catch and Pics guys!!!

One time Debra got a nice 2lber all the way to the top on a jig as I was rushing back there with the homemade long handle dip net. Before I could get there she had it on top of the water and here comes the jig flying out. As it darted back down she stomped the bottom of the boat while yelling out an explicit!Doh I wasn't back there all the way yet but I just shoved that net as deep as I could. You could imagine our surprize when I pulled it back with that 2 lber sitting in the bottom of the net!

Nice catch! And yes 4 big ones. One time I was trolling out of the front and one came to the top and got off as I was swinging the pole next to it out of the way and snagged it in the back. Boy she was mad.
