Default Fishin' With Harold on Nimrod (pics)

I'm waiting for a total knee replacement in August so Harold took me out fishing Thursday. We decided to try jig fishing stakebeds and brushpiles. We ended up with 25 or 30 but we saw a beautiful sunrise and Harold caught a real nice 15 1/2" slab while learning to jig fish with a 1/4 oz. Bighead Jig. I think that I made a believer out of him on the yellow Hi-Vis Stren line also. Caught several nice slabs by noticing the line acting wierd.

Thanks Crappiepro! I'm be getting my knee replacement on August 15th. Pretty painful right now just to work a trolling motor or change seats to move.
Harold has sold his house in L.R. and is moving up to Lake Nimrod permanently and Steve 48 from Greenbriar has just rented a big covered place here in the cove to keep his camper and boat.
People are catching limits but most are small. The heat is awful!

Looks like ya'll took my advice , dropped the minnows and jigged. Really have to cull alot of little ones to keep a limit unless you keep dinks. When you gonna fix your boat? You seem to be hitchhiking a boat ride all summer. Saw some trolling cranks yesterday with some descent Crappie yesterday. Fish cleaning station has been covered up with minner dunkers cleaning dinks most days. Good to see Harold with a good fish.Hands Clapping David I see you still have that one fish Camera. Thumbs Up

Way to go, guys! Thumbs Up That's a barn door, Harold. Came by to see you when I was over there Monday. Glenda told me you were on the way. Glad to hear you're moving to the lake permanently. Ahhh, the good life!! :D David, hope all goes well with that knee replacement thing. I know several people who have had it and they're doing great now. Good luck. Thanks for the post and the pics!

I knew that if we jigged stakebeds and tops that we would catch better fish. I like taking pics as soon as we get the fish in the boat. The fish looks the best then before it starts getting all the red along it's fins from stress. Also, it captures the moment of excitement of the fisherman.
We didn't limit out but we did pretty good with several 14" fish in the mix. Lost a few good-uns.Thumbs Up
Been off work since Feb. so the boat motor repair will have to wait.
We talked to an older couple trolling 100 series Bandits in the river between the lake and Prairie Creek. I saw them catch several and they said that they had an ice chest full! They said the hot colors were Chart/Blue Back and I think he said Chrome with a Black back. They didn't seem to be moving very fast.
Right now, You can catch a limit on Nimrod just about any way that you like to fish, if you can handle the heat!
