Default Fishing with a rookie / photo

I took a young man fishing that is pretty much a greenhorn at Catfishing. His uncle is the town's dog catcher and the boy spends alot of his time helping his uncle. We kept a couple limits and released that many more fiddlers. I had a pole yanked over the boat's console and into the water. It was sitting on the water and I was holler'n for him to grab it. The kid was in shock or something, had to holler ''grab it '' 3 times before he sprang into action. Rofl
We stopped to clean our fish and the young man said he never cleanned a fish before. That was an experience that took lots of patience to try and teach him how to fillet a Catfish. Needless to say he did'nt get many filleted, but I reassured him it will take lots of practice to master it.Thumbs Up

Get you some cane poles. They'll eventually float back up. My grandpaw would run cane poles just like a person does jugs. Bait 'em and let 'em float. Start chasing them when they took off. He'd run 20-30 at a time.

For a minute there I thought you were talking about me......greenhorn catfishing! I admit to being a greenhorn. Congrats on another good day on the water. You're a good man for taking that young man fishing and teaching him how. That goes for old men too! Thumbs Up Thanks for the post and the pics.

I have some 16' BnM Poles with no reels that will float. It's a pain to haul them around, but use them alot when fishing with kids.
