    Default Catfish picture from today

Went late today but caught a mess quick. Released a bunch and culled out this limit. Saw a man with his kids fishing, catching a few small Crappie. They saw me catching Catfish and so I asked if the kid wanted to catch a few. After she caught a few I loaned them two rod and reels, hooks and some liver. Turns out the kids great grandad is a friend of mine. Asked them to leave my tackle with him on the way out.Hands Clapping

After a week of fishing here , he would be a fishing nut or hate fish. You need to bring him one morning and get his line stretched by a big Catfish. Bet you could catch enough for a fish fry with no problem. Kena and I kept 20 yesterday and I kept 10 today. Had about 30 lbs of fillets to do something with. My fishing partners and I have dressed way over 100 this week and released more than that. No problem for 4 of us to all catch a limit most mornings while releasing a bunch more.

Catfishing is'nt any easier than Crappie to me, besides I could catch lots of Crappie everyday. Most of the Crappie being caught here are dinks in the heat. A few desent ones are being caught trolling. Before I'd go back to trolling I'd as soon use a seine. I also commercial fish in the winter. I actually catch 50+ lots of mornings and release all but a limit. I'd rather catch a bunch of hard fighting cats than a bucketfull of 6 to 8'' Crappie. When the slabs pick up I'll be there with my jig pole.
Do you fish only for Crappie? I'm sure you don't speak for all either. I've had several pm's from Crappie fishermen wanting to know how to catch something when the Crappie are slow. I enjoy seeing folks catch fish wheter they are Crappie or not. As far as being stumped , NO. I fish for whatever is best under the conditions. If you don't like my posts then please don't waste your time reading them. I'm a serious Crappie fisherman , but that does'nt mean I won't fish for anything else.
