Hey DP they always told me the only one not making mistakes is the one not doing anything. If a catfish don't want in my boat, it better keep its mouth shut.
I skinned a couple of three pound channels we caught Saturday. Cut 'em up into steaks and fried 'em that night. They were fantastic. I love good river cat almost as much as Crappie. We caught those trolling the stump fields on the bottom with weedless jigs. We catch quite a few Catfish while fishing for Crappie. BTW, we don't usually put out cover for Crappie but I have an elderly friend who told me he used bales of Alfalfa Hay when he was younger and they would be covered up in Crappie. I haven't heard of anyone else on here using it but he swore it was the best.
RCC, you've got to be kidding me!! That one redear is as long as TWO Coke cans!! Don't have a Coke can to measure, but that's got to be 12 inches" Didn't mean to sidetrack this post, but man! Did you weigh it? How much?
Ski
My wife caught that redear last year and it weighed just over a pound. I would have guessed it more, but the digital scales kinda keep me in check. It was after the spawn so maybe it would have weighed more earlier. What made it special was that all those fish came off of some of my pvc condos I put in 3 years ago. It was a dandy and made a neat picture. If I ever get in the mood to lie, it'll probably go at least 1.4 or 1.5Thumbs Up
I for one always enjoy your pics. Thanks for posting.
