I longline troll all the time and I feel the same way. 40 fish makes for a good trip...everything over that is a bonus. You WILL have days where you catch a WHOLE LOT less. Congrats.

I haven't learned the longlining thing or pulling cranks. most places I have trolled I don't think you could get away with those techniques as they got too many errant stumps. Waiting on LUVPT and Bluethunder to show me how one of these days. They definetely got me straight on straight jig trolling. I haven't bought a minner in ages. I ain't bashfull about using em but they are more trouble to tend to and keep in this heat. Blue thunder is teaching me trolling and I am teaching him Big Buck hunting. I think he has learned as much on that as I have on the fishing so far.
