thanks guys for your opinions i had some of the same thoughs about braid but a lot fisherman from ms. are using braid and as many of you know they are the kings of slow trolling, spidderriggin. i have used (tried) braid on and off while vertical jig fishing, even with the sensitivity of braid and the strength of it i keep going back to mono. i have use 6lb golden stren for years on my jig poles. since i have got in to spidder riggin i have not decide on a line i have been using hi-vis vicious but i have found more dislikes than likes just wanted to see what some of you are using. thanks again

Meat, I cannot attest to Braid as I haven't tried it (yet), but I am curious as to your opinion on the hi-vis Viscious mono. I've been contemplating making a line change, and that was the direction I was leaning. As much I've perused the boards, your opinion would be seriously appreciated... What are the issues? I've come to really like the hi-vis for night and dawn/dusk fishing...is it a problem with the brand or?

the problem with hi-vis viscious is it fades real bad then it gets weak and breaks easy and it frays bad and has to much memory and wraps around end of pole to bad. i do like golden stren but it also fades some . i though about braid but i can see where you could break some poles in a hurry. i think i am going with some brand of flurorcarbon ????

My biggest complaint with braid is it grabs every cypress or willow twig it gets close to when I vertical jig in cover.
