Got out and fought the Wind Today

Well fished yesterday and didn't fair to well as my fishing buddy and me caught a few dinks. I was reluctant to try today due to the wind but my buddy wanted to fish. My friends reservoir has produced some nice fish lately but with this wind fishing was out of the question there. After talking with meatgetter yesterday, my buddy and I decided to give Hensley Lake a try. Its a lake close to the house also but I had never fished. We loaded the boat and after a short drive had the boat in the water. It didn't take us long to get our poles in the water as my buddy is getting very good at knowing what to do. She is a great partner. We fought the wind and fought the fish. I don't know what beat us up the most, the fish or the wind. We didn't catch any barn doors but there were plenty of volunteers that wanted to ride home in our cooler. The fish were so hungry that we caught a fish on two jigs one from each pole. We laughed and had a good time. Filled our limit up after 5 hours and came home. That wind and sun was a rough combination but at least the gnats weren't bad. We caught em trolling jigs about 6 foot deep. had several multiple hookups at a time which had us scrambling. This is a new lake that I will fish again. Gotta love fishing and spending time with the family. Happy fathers day to all.

Hey blue that hensley is close to us and good access. Give me a holler and I tell u where I fished. Its not a big lake. I asked around about it but don't seem like many people troll it.
