I never ran mine without a jack plate. I did set the motor up about 2"-2 1/2" higher I can let ya know it that helps much if ya want. Mine is more for when I hit a log at WTFO it will pop up and not tear the back of the boat or lower unit off.

Shane, I was talking to EZ Polehandler about rod holders, and he couldn't find picture of my boat. I know it looks like I was talking about yours, but mine is 4 or 5 pics in front of yours. He was trying to get pic to make me some holders
