    Default Lake Conway Help

Im looking for a little help with Lake Conway. Looks like I'm gonna have to cancel my annual trip to Millwood due to high water. Lake Conway is half the distance and from the posts and pictures on here, has the same quality of fish that Millwood has. I'm not asking for anyone to point me to their "honeyhole", but I have never wet a hook on Conway. I'm looking for advice on where to launch, how to navigate (I spent $1200 last year replacing my lower unit), and possible patterns and areas to concentrate on. I'm a single pole jig fisherman and I love fishing cypress. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Concentrate on small groups of
    Trees.
Look for trees against the creek channels.
There is no boat ramp better than another in my opinion.

Give me your email, I will send you a map of the lake with channels and prior existing ponds and lakes.

thanks for this info; Conway is a brand new lake to me and it is one of a few options I will have next week. We will be driving from Jonesboro to fish Conway. Does anyone know if there are cheap (less than $50) places to rent on the lake. I don't need anything fancy but just a place to sleep? Wanted to stay at the cabins at Maddox Bay next week for 2 nights but they are full of water.
no matter what I'm doing, I've got hunting or fishing on my mind...

Check online for motels in Conway area, city of that size should have alot. You can find some great deals by booking online in advance most places.

You better know where your running, the trails used to be marked but one mess up may cost you big time. Go to the Arkansas Game and Fish website and get a lake map. Should be able to catch fish at most landings. PM or call Dan at gold Creek for more info. Good luck.

Last time I was in Bates Field & Stream at Mayflower they had the good Lake Conway maps with the boat trails marked. Might call them and ask them to hold you one as this is where the registration is to take place, so they may be in high demand. Good luck!
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
