    Default Dad-gum-it (erling)

Fished part of the day Saturday at Erling, wind was just a blowin, white cappin, muddy water. Didnt fair too well on the crappie. Ended up givin up and went sight seein around the lake. Sunday morining on the water before daylight. Headed across the lake to a favorite crappie hole. On the way I hit a underwater stump, well......there went the forward and reverse gears in my motor. Ended up trolling the rest of the way. Caught about 14 nice crappie in about 45 min. The wind started to pick up so I decided to troll my way back across before the waves got to much for the trolling motor. After about 30 minutes or so of trolling I finally made it back and started fishing around the Cattail grass and good thing I did. Thats where the crappie were hiding!!! Fished a couple more hours and ended up with 39 for the two half day's of fishin. By the way there is a fairly new Blackberry cell phone under the dock at the Bass Haven...

Picture below. most were 12 to 14 inch........

I hate to hear about all of your troubles at Lake Erling. But, at least she gave up a few nice crappie for you. It sounds like an expensive trip; per pound for the fish.

I hit stumps most every trip it seems to be worse when water is normal it gives me false sense of security and I know the stumps are there.
