Thumbs up Lake Erling this week

The wife has sent me fishing for supper 2 times this week I managed enough both trips Water has fallen back to near pool level and is only lightly muddied fish are in my tops but most are dinks catching a few keepers on Yellow/gold/yellow meatgetter jigs have to hunt for the keepers and they look wore out from the spawn but as long as I can produce supper on demand I am not complaining.

This is my first year to fish Erling. So far have found it to be an excellent fishing spot! Fished it last Thursday and half day on Friday ended up catching 71 crappie and 34 bluegills. Crappie were of fair size a few dinks and a few slabs. As you said they are looking wore out from the spawn. I am going to try and get down there tomorrow morning and get back at em. If not, Saturday for sure. I have been fishing from Bass Haven south toward the dam site and have done well in 3 to 4 feet of water. Been catching the better crappie around cypress about three feet down. Will post pic as soon as I figure out how........

That is a very good mess of fish Willow Slab. Congratulations! I'd love to run up to Erling on Saturday, but we have birthday party in West Monroe.

All I ever want to bring home is enough for a meal. More than that and they get froze and as long as you can catch and eat fresh fish the ones in the freezer wind up getting gave away.:o Congrats on your two trips.
