Default Boat Cleaning Help for detailing

Hey Guys I want to detail my Boat, What's the best and fastest way to clean my carpet?
Thinking about just taking it to a car wash and spraying with soap and spray rinse with water. Any body tried this, does it work? and worried about getting soap in the internal areas like live wells and bilge areas.

Also what is a good marine wax to use.? Thanks

Dont really know about the carpet....but I learned something this past weekend from a friend of mine that just bought a "New to him" BassCat....he cleaned his carpet with just high pressure clean water....but the really neat thing I learned was to clean the fiberglass was to rinse it off real good then Pledge furniture polish and a soft rag.....and it put a showroom shine on the boat....would have never thought about that....

Maybe we are just on the wrong side sometimes.....

depends on how bad your carpet is dirty, if just spots, then suggest you try "Tuff Stuff" upholstery cleaner. In a yellow and red can, works good for spot cleaning or to clean the entire boat. Use it all the time. have heard of motorcylce owners using pledge furniture polish on their bikes but never tried it. Several bike owners swear by the stuff tho.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Pressure washing or steam cleaning will do the job on the carpet no problem I use 2ooo psi on lake sport after wetting down with dish soap and light scrubbing it has worked for 15 years no problems.

Any one ever use PAR-FE' WAX?

Rich Richards for Richards Honda told me about it. Works very well, and water runs off like never before. Will restore color to plastic parts. Use it on the wheeler too.

I got mine at Fred & Jack's RV.

I have pulled carpet loose from the floor using a car wash. sort of just bubbled it up. The carpet was old and it may not do it on good carpet, but I would be careful about getting the nozzle too close. soap will not hurt the bilge or livewell, but be sure to rinse the live well good so it doesnt foam next time you use it. I also use pledge as a detailer and it works well, but it does not give you any uv protection so use a quality wax a couple times a year. I like mothers nano wax for my semi anual waxing. never have seen par-fe' wax. let me know how it works

You can also put grooves or lines in the carpet if you get to spray nozzle too close to the carpet.
