You not have trim on that Merc? I don't, so I put the PT-130 on and it's like adding power steering. Put I run my motor 3" higher too.

What boat is that?
The boat is an '03 Tracker 16x54 that I bought new in '03. They only made it in a utility jon for a few years. The new 16x54 has a little different hull shape and lower sides. The rod and gun box was a custom job that a fab shop put together for me.

I took that photo when I hung that motor in the summer of 2010. I became one of "those guys" who ran into a fella who had an '02 still on the pallet that was taking up room in his shop that he was ready to get rid of. It's a 40 ML. Merc generally listed it as a commercial motor- no oil injection, hydraulic assist, pull start. Less is more for me. It's hard to get stranded because a battery failed, I'd rather run a PT-130 and have a free floating motor with setback, and I never was a fan of oil injection. Plus, it had 00.00 hours on it when I bought it.

ski trip- A CMC PT-130 is an aftermarket hydraulic tilt and trim unit made by Cook Manufacturing Company. It's great for motors that didn't come with T&T, especially folks who run shallow or idle through flooded timber.
