Krappie KG I'm kinda like you I've single pole or double usually jigged from my boat forever. This year I've started spider rigging a little. My problem is every time I pass a pretty lay down or see a sunken treasure on the FF I want to stop and jig it. I'm working on a hybrid system, but not sure it works very well. I fish from a kayak now instead of a motorboat and it takes lots of concentration to keep 3 or 4 poles out of the tree tops. Strip I bet you and your son will enjoy sitting up there manning those rods. As far as your setup I've changed mine several times already and I bet you will to. You're doing the right thing with your setup. The other day when I was spider rigging there was times when I had fish hitting all 4 rods at the same time. But JigginPoleJoe I know what you mean about that thump. It can be as addicitve as cocaine.. That's why you'll see me spider rigging past a top and I'll have one pole in my hand jigging the holes in the top or laydown tree, I just can't help it. It's certainly not for everyone, I'm not sure it's what I want to do, but certain times of the year it gets hard to catch crappie on some lakes any other way. It beats staying home.

Strip, thats a neat setup you have there. I was wondering how you have it anchored down. Ive been wanting to try that but dont want to break the bank on a spider rig set up. Ive never tried it so I dont know for sure I would use it enough to spend that kinda money on it. Thanks for the pics and great idea. Oh, what size pvc is that anyhow.

I am going to anchor it down with some bungee cords hooked from a couple of the rod holder uprights to the lip on the outside of the boat. The frame and uprights are all built out of 1 1/4" the rod holders and the adjustable 90's are 1 1/2. I tried to build the holders out of the smaller stuff but it was just too tight to get the rods out easily. The 1 1/2 holders worked great. Notice in the picture that I slit both ends of the 90 and used hose clamps (only 1 installed) so I could adjust the rods both up and down and left and right. also see on the holder that I cut a groove in the bottom to accept the trigger on the baitcasters to lock them in place. they hold spinning rods well too.

LOl! ur probably right on that one, but I am playing odds. If I can't catch them on the strike, maybe I can tangle them up in the riggen!

Strip, When i first started,I did the same pvc thing, then modified it by using a flat piece of 3/16 aluminum with 3/4 in hole in one end to go under seat pedestal.I think it was 20 inches. You could save a lot of room by bending a 90 in front of plate, and screwing pvc to upright piece of plate, and its easy to store when not using .Just a thought. I finally got off pocketbook and bought Driftmaster rigging.

I like the stick steer boat. You did good on the pvc. I saw those on someone else a while ago. A lot of whittling cutting those out.
