Default Dardanelle is a frigging mess

I drove down to the dam and the river is raging. Went over to Ouita Bay and drove all around it. It don't even look like a lake. It looks more like a raging muddy river. I must have seen 50 logs and trees rolling with the current. I called my friend that lives on Piney Bay and he said it was the same there. Running a boat would be risky with all that debri. It has been a constant downpour for at least 3 hrs here in Dardanelle and we have gotten 4 more inches since I was at the lake. Hope all my favorite brush piles dont wind up in New Orleans. On top of that we are due more of this tomorrow.
I hope everyone thats in the big tourny this Fri stays safe.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

hwy 63 is closed north of ravenden and south of ravenden at the farm here and south of imboden it's closed. this happened back in the major flood of '82. it got 8 or 10 ft deep over the hwy here at the farm back then. with more to come the next two days.

Paul Alpers, president of crappie masters will be making the call today. I honestly believe after after discussing the situation with him last might, the tourney will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date. Too dangerous everyone in the state right now and no lives need to be at risk!

There have been many tournaments cancelled on the Arkansas with conditions no so bad as this.

First of all, I am really glad to see Mids man on here this AM. I was thinking about you last night in between going to my own storm shelter. I would not be on the lake at all for at least a week. I just called and the dam is releasing 416,000 CFS. I have been here all my life and dont remember it ever rolling like that. My son called me and said the water was real close to the buildings on front st. I will get some pixs in a little while and post them.
My heart goes out to the folks in Vilonia and all over the state. I lost my home and all my possessions and almost my life in a tornado in '76. I know the feeling when you are standing there looking at a life time of work piled up in a heap.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

Strip, is that picture of the Lee Creek channel off the river? Or the creek that runs towards Devil's Den around Silver Bridge?
