Thought that would get your attention!!! Lake Monticello is hot if you like: 1) high winds; 2) Green Carp; 3) whitecaps coming over the boat. Otherwise, Crappie are just not happening. I spend yesterday morning with an underwater camera searching that crystal clear water at all my favorite "honeyholes" for those huge black Crappie that lake is known for. I never saw the first Crappie but did see tons of medium size to gigantic Largemouth Bass. The wind was horrendous and I was limited to certain areas; water temp 67. Give it another month and they should be recovered from the spawn and back in their regular haunts. I'll concentrate on the White Perch for now.
