    Default Peckerwood water level??

Anyone over in se arkansas give me an update on the water level at peckerwood. I'm 2 hours away, don't want to make the trip with gas prices if the water is still low. Thanks in advance!

Its very low. Gonna take a big rain to put some good water in it. I did hear some brave people were catching several catfish out there.

Affirmative. It is bad low. Awful - I've never seen it this low toward the end of March. Been a few great years thanks to high water throughout the year, sure hope this don't set the fishing back too bad. I've seen it fill up in two days after a real toad strangler but it's been a long time since the area has had one. Irrigation season ain't too far off now, so it better do some raining.

I hear that WindMead Farms is putting down 10 wells because of fears of no water. Only problem there is very little shallow water under the ground anymore.

How far would I have to carry or drag a boat? Thinking about going over there this weekend. Also, where do I need to launch? Im thinking the south side.

You can launch a lightweight aluminum boat, don't even think about a glass boat. I live in Hazen and out of the last two systems we only got an inch of rain. We need more in the right place.
